OVERVIEW:  

SUBASE New London is nicknamed, “Home of the Submarine Force.” Nearly all the Navy's submariners are stationed at New London for training. SUBASE New London encompasses over 680 acres. It has more than 160 major facilities.  An average of 15 nuclear submarines are based at SUBASE New London. The base has 11 submarine piers (9 of which are nuclear submarine - SSN rated).

SUBASE New London is home to over 70 Naval and DoD tenant commands and support activities. SUBASE New London employs more than 9,500 active duty, reserve and civilian personnel. SUBASE New London provides Base Operations Support (BOS) for operational Naval forces, shore support units, and DoD tenants.

Small Business Opportunities at SUBASE New London 
There are numerous new business opportunities for both large prime defense contractors and for small businesses who are able to provide the required products, equipment, material, and services required by SUBASE New London. These business opportunities include providing both commercially available products and services directly to U.S. Navy and DoD organizations via government contract or through the use of Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) to include "micro-purchases" for items priced under $3,000 ($2,000 for construction). There are also a wide array of opportunities for small businesses to serve as subcontractors and suppliers to prime defense contractors supporting the U.S. Navy and Department of Defense.
