OVERVIEW: 

MCB Hawaii has the U.S. Marine Corps' only training area and range in the Pacific region. MCB Hawaii possesses air, ground, and logistics elements of the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF). MCB Hawaii hosts land, air, sea, and amphibious training activities for Marines and other U.S. and foreign military services and non-federal agencies. Training activities include large-scale joint operations, small tactical operations, and humanitarian relief operations. 

MCB Hawaii maintains and operates airfield facilities at Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay. Kaneohe Bay serves as an alternate point of embarkation/point of departure for the time phased force deployments. Kaneohe Bay also provides facilities for strategic lift of Marine Corps Forces in the Pacific and for other DoD agencies.

MCB Hawaii (at Camp Smith) is home to Headquarters, U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM). USPACOM's Area of Responsibility (AOR) encompasses about half the earth's surface, stretching from the waters off the west coast of the U.S. to the western border of India, and from Antarctica to the North Pole. 

MCB Hawaii directly employs 14,335 military, government civilians, and defense contractors. MCB Hawaii is responsible for creating 18,622 jobs in the State of Hawaii.

The Regional Contracting Office for MCB Hawaii performs Simplified Acquisitions Procedures (SAP) and conducts large defense contract acquisitions. NOTE: SAP are made via purchase orders and delivery orders whose value is greater than $3,000 and no more than $150,000 for equipment, supplies and services (from $2,500), such as tools, appliances, office supplies, publications, equipment maintenance, repairs, non-personal services, furniture, etc. Large contract acquisitions are made via government contracts, delivery orders, and task orders whose value is over $150,000 for equipment, supplies and specialized services.
