OVERVIEW:  The 49th Wing is the host unit for Holloman AFB.  As the host unit, the 49th Wing provides the full spectrum of base support services, such as civil engineering, supply/logistics, housing and billeting, medical, personnel, security, transportation, and other support functions. The operational mission of the 49th Wing is to provide combat-ready forces to fly and maintain the MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper remotely piloted aircraft. The 49th Wing also provides and delivers Air Transportable Clinics and Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resources. Other units at Holloman AFB include the 54th Fighter Group (which conducts F-16 Fighting Falcon flight training) and a German Air Force Flying Training Center. Holloman AFB is a large Air Force installation spanning 59,639 acres. This base supports about 18,000 personnel (active duty Air Force, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve personnel plus military retirees, defense civilians, contractors, and military family members). The 49th Contracting Squadron (49 CONS) provides Holloman AFB with the full spectrum of government contracting support. The 49th CONS manages and administers base procurements and support acquisitions. The 49th CONS supports contractual actions sustaining $5.3 billion in base infrastructure and equipment. Holloman AFB directs an annual execution of over $17 million of appropriated funds and $7.4 million in non-appropriated funds.
