OVERVIEW: 

Goodfellow AFB is a multi-service defense installation with Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps units located on-site. The 17th Training Wing is the host unit for Goodfellow AFB. The 17th Training Wing provides intelligence and cryptologic training for the Air Force and the other military service components and DoD agencies. The 17th Training Wing also trains military firefighters. 

Also located at Goodfellow AFB is the U.S. Army's 344th Military Intelligence Battalion (344th MIB). The 344th MIB trains both military Intelligence and firefighter personnel. The 344th MIB has over 300 permanent on-site personnel who support the training of approximately 1,500 soldiers each year.

The Navy Center for Information Dominance (CID) is a U.S. Navy Detachment at Goodfellow AFB. The CID's mission is to train and develop the information technologies skills for both naval and joint military service members.

Also located at Goodfellow AFB is the Marine Corps Detachment (MARDET). MARDET provides administrative, logistic, and training support for military fire protection and signals intelligence personnel.

Small Business and Base Contracting Information
To sustain and support operations and training programs at Goodfellow AFB, the 17th Contracting Squadron serves as the base contracting office. The 17th CONS procures products, services, and materiel from private industry. The 17th CONS also awards and administers the full spectrum of Government contracts. A significant portion of these contracts are set aside for small businesses.
