OVERVIEW:

Fort Leonard Wood is designated as the U.S. Army's Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE). There are a number of educational and training schools located at this installation. These schools include the U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear School, the U.S. Army Engineer School, the U.S. Army Military Police School, and the MSCoE Noncommissioned Officers Academy. Located on this installation is Forney Airfield which accommodates both commercial and military aircraft.

Fort Leonard Wood is one of three U.S. Army installations that provide in-processing
and Basic Combat Training (BCT) for new Soldiers. There is an average of 450 international students (representing over 100 nations) who are trained each year at Fort Leonard Wood.

Fort Leonard Wood has approximately 6,900 permanently assigned military personnel and an annual average of 80,000 active duty military personnel and 12,000 reserve military personnel attending schools on-site. The annual operating budget for Fort Leonard Wood is more than $450 million.
