OVERVIEW:  

Fort Knox is home to a number of U.S. Army commands and operational / support units. Fort Knox encompasses over 109,000 acres. Fort Knox has approximately 6.900 military personnel and 4,800 DoD civilian employees on-site. In an average year, Fort Campbell awards and/or administers over $306 million in government contracts. A significant portion of these contracts are set-aside for small business concerns.  

The 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command is located at Fort Knox.  It provides logistics and distribution management support to U.S. Army forces deployed anywhere across the globe. The support and training commands located at Fort Knox include: U.S. Army Cadet Command, U.S. Army Human Resources Command, and the U.S. Army Recruiting Command

Also located at Fort Knox is the United States Bullion Depository. This Federal depository is used to store a significant portion of the United States' official gold reserves.
