OVERVIEW: 

Fort George G. Meade is home to several Department of Defense (DoD) cyber operations and defense information systems development agencies.  These DoD organizations include the the U.S. Army's Defense Information School, the Defense Media Activity, Headquarters U.S. Cyber Command, the Defense Courier Service, the National Security Agency, and Headquarters Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).  In addition to these organizations, there are 110 other units and Federal offices located at Fort Meade. 

Fort Meade has over 52,000 employees working on-site. Fort Meade is Maryland’s largest employer.  It also has the U.S. Army's third-largest on-base workforce. 

The National Security Agency is a government intelligence organization. NSA conducts worldwide monitoring, collection, and processing of information and data - Signals Intelligence (SIGINT). This data is used for foreign intelligence and counterintelligence.

The Defense Information Systems Agency develops and manages information technology and communications support to the U.S. President, Department of Defense, the military services (Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps), and the U.S. Combatant Commands across the globe. 

United States Cyber Command directs the operations and defense of DoD information networks.  USCYBERCOM conducts the full spectrum military cyberspace operations. USCYBERCOM ensures both DoD and our military allies have freedom of action in cyberspace while denying this freedom to adversaries.  

Defense Media Activity provides multimedia products (books, magazines, websites, photos, etc.) and services (interviews, television and radio presentations) to inform, educate, and entertain DoD personnel worldwide.
