OVERVIEW: 

As the host unit for Edwards AFB, the 412th Test Wing provides support for over 10,000 military, federal civilian and contract personnel. In addition, the 412th Test Wing plans, conducts, analyzes, and reports on all flight and ground testing of Air Force aircraft, weapons systems, software and flight components. The three primary facets of the 412th Test Wing's mission include: flight operations, aircraft maintenance, and systems engineering.

The Air Force Test Center (AFTC) conducts developmental testing and evaluation (T&E) of air, space, and cyber systems. AFTC oversees has oversight of work carried out at three primary locations across the United States: 96th Test Wing at Eglin AFB, Florida; 412th Test Wing at Edwards AFB, California; and Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold AFB, Tennessee.

The Armstrong Flight Research Center (NASA organization)  is NASA's primary operation for aeronautical research. The Armstrong Flight Research Center operates and tests some of the world's most advanced aircraft systems.
