OVERVIEW: The Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation is co-located with other DoD simulation agencies, educational institutions, and defense contractor facilities in Orlando's Central Florida Research Park. These organizations focus on modeling and simulation technologies. AFAMS' mission is to develop and integrate "cross-functional" Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) Operational Training (OT) environments for Air Force personnel. These LVC-OT systems helps Air Force personnel improve their warfighting skills and hone their decision making performance. AFAMS is an Air Force field operating agency. The Commander of AFAMS reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Plans and Requirements located Air Force Headquarters in the Pentagon. |

AFAMS is organized into five functional divisions:
- Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) Foundations Division
- Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) Space & Cyberspace Division
- Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) Command and Control (C2)/ Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Division
- Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) Combat Air Force (CAF)/Mobility Air Force (MAF)/ Special Operations Force (SOF) Division
- Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) Agile Combat Support (ACS) / Building Partnership (BP) Division
Small Business Opportunities with the Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation
AFAMS is co-located with other DoD modeling and simulation organizations in the Orlando area. AFAMS is not a traditional self-contained base and as such, it does not require the broad spectrum of support services and products normally purchased to support a military base. However, AFAMS is a larger purchaser for information technologies, electronics, professional services, training and educational products / services.
