Youngstown ARS is home to the 910th Airlift Wing (an Air Force Reserve Command unit). The 910th flies and maintains C-130H2 Hercules transport and cargo aircraft. There are approximately 1,600 air reserve technicians, traditional reserve and civilian personnel assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing.
The 910th Airlift Wing performs DoD’s only fixed-wing aerial spray mission. Aerial spraying is used to control disease-carrying insects, pest insects, and undesirable vegetation. Aerial spraying can also be used to disperse oil spills in large bodies of water. If called upon, the 910th Airlift Wing can support combat operations by providing tactical airlift of personnel and materiel.
Also located at Youngstown ARS are a Naval Operations Support Center and a Marine Corps Reserve detachment.
