Nellis AFB has over 10,000 personnel (military, federal civil service, and contractors) assigned. Recent data indicates that Nellis AFB has a combined operations and maintenance budget totaling more than $550 million annually.

The 99th Air Base Wing is the host wing for Nellis and Creech AFB. The 99th ABW provides installation support for the personnel assigned to and working at Nellis AFB, Creech AFB, and the Nevada Test and Training Range.

The U.S. Air Force Warfare Center is also located at Nellis AFB. The U.S. Air Force Warfare Center trains military leaders through responsive, realistic, and relevant testing, tactics development, and advanced training across the full spectrum of warfare.

The 57th Wing manages flying operations at Nellis AFB. The 57th Wing conducts advanced aircrew, space, logistics and command and control training through the USAF Weapons School, Red Flag and Green Flag exercises.
